pop/gothic/trip-hop/ambience The music of Blind Divine is best described as “art music.” These prolific and experienced artists have embraced a creative style that is as unconventional as it is carefully crafted, allowing subtle nuances to collide with deliberate profoundness. Their “musical paintings” may be a thirty second interlude designed to lure the listener into an otherworldly dreamscape, where floating rhythms, ethereal vocals, haunting piano, or effected guitars become a palette of many hues, a sonic texture that conjures a visual aesthetic. While others embrace a mix of moody beats and emotional vocals, where the “art music” becomes the theme of an enigmatic dream that is as strange as it is inescapably familiar in a delicate and abstract world, imbuing an ultra awareness of emotion, love, hate, fear, pain, life, death, elation, or faith, and inviting the imagination to ruminate. . |

| Blind
Divine, a Tucson based band of not only musicians, who aptly call their
brand of sound “art music,” but of internationally known artists,
game makers, and publishers, will be releasing their 6th album, “Breathing
Spell” on 11-11. Challenged to write only on guitar rather than piano,
Daniel focused more on the sound of the guitar filling the spaces that
piano or strings may fill and used an EBow on some songs, the sound is
reminiscent of Shoegaze and bands such as Mogwai, the Doves, or even Coldplay.
While Paula's vocals dress these moody relics in a sensuous drama, Jacob's
bass injects a ritualistic power and intensity, Damian then contributed
his unearthly guitar musings. In “Breathing Spell, there are moments
of swirling mass amidst a dusty western quietness that reflects a sort
of sepia drenched Gothic Victorian landscape. . . . |
